Why sunflower wax and wild yarrow

Most natural lip balms are built on beeswax, which is why so many of them feel like they're sitting on top of your lips instead of doing anything. We use sunflower wax instead. It sets the balm and holds up to wind and cold, but at a lower use level, so you get structure without the waxy drag.

The oil phase is where the repair happens. We slow-infuse hand-harvested wild yarrow into high-linoleic sunflower oil, then build on pasture-raised beef tallow, whose fatty acid profile closely mirrors the lipids in your own skin.
