My roots run deep on the prairie.

My grandmother was a third-generation cattle rancher who wrote a small-town newspaper column called Lone Tree. It was a gathering place for community wisdom long before the internet. She loved skincare and makeup. My mother was a teacher and an Avon lady who turned our kitchen table into a world of color charts, perfume samples, and the belief that skincare was both ritual and confidence.

I became a chemist and healthcare executive. When I looked at what the market called natural skincare, I knew there was room for something richer. Something more thoughtful than one dimensional craft balms. Something more honest than catchy marketing phrases. I created Lone Tree Tallow to honor the nutrient density of tallow, an ancestral ingredient the skin instantly recognizes, and to elevate it with prairie herbals and modern, clinically backed bioactives.

Prairie Sourcing

Our tallow comes from the same ranch my grandmother lived on. My cousins are now fifth-generation ranchers in South Dakota, and we also source from a trusted network of local family farmers who raise grass-fed cattle with care. We partner directly with small-town butchers to secure the finest suet for every batch. Our suet is quadruple rendered in our studio to ensure we are working with the purest, cleanest tallow. We honor the land and the whole animal, and we choose only producers who share our commitment to stewardship, respect, and integrity.

Natural Pairings

We pair tallow with botanicals like calendula, chamomile, and yarrow. These plants belong to the prairie and complement tallow in both tradition and chemistry. Tallow restores the skin barrier. The botanicals soothe, protect, and support renewal.

Thoughtful Formulation

We do not use synthetic chemicals. Every ingredient we choose serves the skin. Any preservatives used in our lotions are ECOCERT approved and selected only for safety in water-based formulas. Nothing unnecessary, nothing added for marketing value alone.
