Our Story

My roots run deep in the prairie. My great-great-grandmother Ida homesteaded in Lone Tree Township, South Dakota — the place this brand is named for. My grandmother was a cattle rancher who wrote a small-town newspaper column called The Lone Tree News, a gathering place for community wisdom long before social media. My mother was a teacher and a part-time Avon lady, turning our kitchen table into a world of color charts and the belief that skincare is both ritual and confidence. My own girls work alongside me now. Six generations of prairie women stand behind this brand.

I became a chemist. And when I looked at what passed for "natural skincare," I knew there was room for something richer — something that honored the nutrient density of tallow, an ancestral ingredient the skin instantly recognizes, and elevated it with modern, clinically supported actives.

Honest sourcing. Our tallow comes from a family ranch in South Dakota, raised on pasture and rendered by hand in small batches. We partner with a small-town butcher for the finest suet and quadruple-render it in our own studio for the cleanest, purest tallow.

Two lines, one standard. Lone Tree Tallow is our tallow-forward line — balms, creams, and lip care built on that heritage lipid. Lone Tree Performance Botanicals is our plant-based line — cleansers, hydrosols, facial oils, and serums for the formats where botanicals do the better work. Every ingredient earns its place by chemistry, never by obligation.

Modern science. We formulate with evidence-based actives: bakuchiol as a gentle retinol alternative, niacinamide for tone and texture, astaxanthin and CoQ10 for antioxidant defense, and copper peptides (GHK-Cu) and exosomes for renewal.
